For an authentic Thai night market experience, Chatuchak weekend market is the place to go. This sprawling open-air venue is one of the largest markets in Bangkok, and it comes alive every Friday night.
Open until midnight on Friday and 6 pm the other days,, the narrow lanes are crammed with stalls selling everything from clothes and souvenirs to street food and live animals to the famous Pad Thai. The atmosphere is electric, and haggling is expected, so keep that in mind.
However, prices are generally very reasonable, especially Thai cuisine, so don’t be afraid to enjoy yourself. Just remember always to smile and stay polite. With a bit of practice, you’ll be able to walk away with some great deals.
And even if you don’t find anything you want to buy, Chatuchak is still a great place to soak up the local atmosphere and people-watch.
Discover Wat Saket
Wat Saket is the perfect place to find some peace and quiet in Bangkok. You see, when planning a Bangkok itinerary, some calm break is needed before going back to the chaos of the city, and this is exactly where Wat Saket excels.
This temple complex dates back to the Ayutthaya period, and it features a peaceful garden, a golden stupa, and views of the city from atop its hilltop location.

There’s no better way to enjoy the second night in your Bangkok itinerary than taking the view from one of the many rooftop bars. Whether you’re looking for a sophisticated spot to enjoy a cocktail or a laid-back bar with stunning views of the city skyline, Bangkok has something for everyone.
One of the most popular rooftop bars is Octave Rooftop Bar, which offers panoramic views of the city and a menu full of inventive cocktails. Note that it’s located on the 45th floor of the Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit.
For similar views and better location, near Icon Siam shopping mall, SEEN Restaurant & Bar Bangkok is the ideal alternative, and I’m confident you’ll love the sky bar.
That being said, my favorite is Sala Rattanakosin, located right in front of Wat Arun and offers incredible views of the temple and the boats passing on the river while you sip on a great cocktail. Did I mention that you’ll spot Wat Pho right at your back? All in all, one of the best rooftop bars in Bangkok.

Day 3 – Take a Day Trip from Bangkok
The last of your days in Bangkok should be all about visiting the surrounding area – I’ll give you 3 amazing day tours here below so that you have all the best options.
After the day trip, I highly recommend going to see the sunset at Asiatique and spending some time at Khao San Road, Bangkok’s most iconic road where you can party or just see another side of the city.
OPTION 1: Join a Day Trip to Ayutthaya
Ayutthaya, Thailand- a city that is rich in history, culture, and interesting ancient temples. Located just 1 hour north of Bangkok, Ayutthaya was once the capital of Siam and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city is full of ancient ruins that are a must-see for any visitor.
Ayutthaya was founded in 1350 by King Uthong and quickly became an important center of trade and politics. The city flourished for centuries, until it was invaded by the Burmese in 1767.
The Burmese destroyed much of the city, and it was never able to recover fully. Nevertheless, Ayutthaya remains an important historical site, and a visit here is sure to leave you with a greater understanding of Thai culture and history.

Located just a short drive from Bangkok, the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is one popular market in Thailand.
It is located about 100 kilometers (62 miles) southwest of Bangkok in the province of Ratchaburi, and I recommend getting there with a tour guide to make your vacation much more convenient.
It is a bustling hive of activity where vendors paddle their canoes back and forth to sell all sorts of goods to locals and tourists from street food to coconut ice cream and so much Thai food. Whether you’re looking for fresh fruits, flowers, or to get a glimpse of the local lifestyle, you’re in for a treat here!
On top of that, you will get to Maeklong Railway Market too, where you’ll see one of the most original local markets, with the train passing by and the shops quickly removing all their goods to let it pass.
While you can get there by yourself, day trips from Bangkok are inexpensive and very convenient and I highly recommend it as soon as possible, tickets sell out fast! Spending 3 days in Bangkok? Find the time to go to the floating markets and Maeklong Railway Market.
OPTION 3: Pattaya and Koh Larn
Pattaya is a world-famous beach resort town and seaside city located on the east coast of Thailand, about 100 kilometers southeast of Bangkok. The city has something to offer for everyone, whether you are looking for a peaceful place to relax or exciting nightlife. Pattaya is also a great place to shop, with its many markets and malls offering a wide variety of goods.
Pattaya’s nightlife is world-famous and the city offers a huge variety of bars, nightclubs, local cuisine, and other entertainment venues. The city is also home to many adult entertainment establishments. The city has a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere and is very welcoming to tourists.
On the other hand, Koh Larn is located off the coast of Thailand, only 45 minutes away from Pattaya. It is a popular tourist destination due to its beautiful beaches and clear waters

End the Day in Khao San Road
Khao San Road in Bangkok is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Thailand. The street is known for its cheap hotels, bars, and nightclubs. At night, the street comes alive with music and lights, and you can find everything from Thai food to deep-fried insects and drinks.
There are also a variety of shops selling souvenirs and tailor-made suits.
Khao San Road is also open during the day, and some travelers choose to go during daytime hours to avoid crowds at night. However, a nighttime visit offers a much different vibe, with loud music, bright lights, and crowded streets.

The best places to stay in Bangkok are Siam, Khao San (the old city), and Sathorn. Siam, the area near Lumphini Park, offers lots of nice hotels for a reasonable price. Plus, it’s near the best shopping malls, BTS skytrain station, and Airport Rail Link to save money from Bangkok airport.
Khao San is home to great nightlife, the main attractions like the Grand Palace and the temple of the emerald Buddha, and you’ll experience the more authentic side of Bangkok.
Sathorn is further away from the main attractions but it’s closer to the Chao Phraya river with lots of Thai massage shops and the Icon Siam shopping.
